Chad Visits the Club

Our Immediate past president Chad who now resides in Newcastle, Australia visited his old club on Wednesday. He was happy to see many new faces and was warmly welcomed by the current members. We were all treated to an entertaining speech my the maestro before mixing and mingling with both the new and old members of the club.

We wish him well in Australia and look forward to hearing more about his adventures at his new home club.

Success at the Area A1 Contest

Once again Varsity Toastmasters has tasted success at the latest Area A1 speech contest. Our very own Pablo German represented us in the Table Topics and Humorous Speech contest and took out the tile of the Area A1 Table Topics champion for 2007.

We wish him the very best at the upcoming Division A contest

Varsity Cleans up at the Area A1 Contests

Varsity Toastmasters have once again taken out both titles at the recently concluded Area A1 contests. Our very own president Chad Wijeratne became the Area A1 International Speech Contest champion while Nandita Carvalho won the Evaluation contest.

This is the second consecutive occasion where our members have taken out both titles at the Area A1 contest. We wish them well at the Division A championships coming up on 21st April

Varsity Club International Speech Contest

The Varsity Club showcased some of its finest talents last night in its annual International Speech contest. There were a total of 5 speakers competing for glory, they were (in speaking order)

Area A1 Contest

2nd September, 2006

A large contingent of Varsity Club members attended the Area A1 contest finals on Saturday 2 September, to watch and support club members Chad Wijeratne and Nandita Carvalho.

Congratulations are due to both Chad and Nandita, who spoke with confidence, humour and flair. It was a proud moment as Chad took out the Humorous contest, winning first place and Nandita won second place in the Table Topics contest.
